【Macau, August 3, 2018】Good news to all crab lovers! Catalpa Garden is now featuring young hairy crabs that a lot of Shanghainese crave for during the mid-summer season. Guests can choose from two authentic ways to enjoy these tasty crustaceans, namely Sauteéd Fried Young Hairy Crabs with Rice Cake and Braised Young Hairy Crabs with Soy Sauce. Stock is limited. What is young hairy crabs
They are caught during the sixth month of the lunar calendar, when they are just going through their third shell molting. The young hairy crabs are extra delicious, with thin shells, tender meat and rich roe.
A Taste of Two Authentic Flavours
At Catalpa Garden, guests can have the opportunity to savour two different authentic styles of cooking the young hairy crabs handpicked by the master chefs:
Sauteéd Fried Young Hairy Crabs with Rice Cake – The glutinous rice cake, with flavour of its own, is given rich taste from the sauce and the crab. Such perfect combination will guarantee to leave epicures a lasting memory of this summer delight!
Braised Young Hairy Crabs with Soy Sauce – The young hairy crabs are slightly deep-fried and then cooked with stock, onion and Hua Diao wine. The sauce is capable of developing the luscious taste of the crab meat and roe.
Both meticulously prepared dishes are now available at Catalpa Garden. Each young hairy crab is priced at MOP 120. A minimum of two young hairy crabs is required for each dish. While stock lasts!
